🏡 About the Cabin
Q: What kind of accommodation is The Hind Quarters Cabin?
A: It’s a converted family workshop that has been recently refurbished into a cozy, self-contained space. It has an open-plan layout like an American loft, with a kitchen, living area, and sleeping space all in one large room, plus a private bathroom and sunroom.
Q: How many guests can stay in the cabin?
A: The cabin is set up for two guests with a comfortable queen-sized bed, but we can accommodate small families or groups upon request. We offer a sofa bed (double), an optional single bed if needed and we can accommodate bigger parties if discussed before arrival.
Q: Is the cabin pet-friendly?
A: Yes! We welcome well-behaved pets. Please let us know in advance if you’re bringing a furry friend.
Q: Do you provide WiFi?
A: Yes, we offer free WiFi, but due to the remote location, speeds may vary. It’s usually strong enough for streaming and general browsing.

Q: How do I get to the cabin?
A: The cabin is located in Valtos, Uig, on the Isle of Lewis. The easiest way to reach us is by car. If you're arriving by ferry or plane, you can rent a car in Stornoway, which is about an hour’s drive away. We’ll send you detailed instructions if you’re concerned,.
Q: Is there parking available?
A: Yes, we provide free on-site parking right next to the cabin.

A: The nearest shop is an 8-minute drive away. There’s also a seasonal restaurant and café within a 10-minute drive.

Beach walks & shell collecting – Five stunning beaches within a 5-minute drive
Hill walking & hiking – Explore breathtaking trails and viewpoints
Surfing at Cliff Beach – Great waves for experienced surfers
Swimming & paddling – Safe, clear waters at Reef Beach
Birdwatching & wildlife spotting – Seals, otters, dolphins, and even basking sharks!
Stargazing & Northern Lights – Our streetlights turn off in the evening, making this one of the best places in Scotland to see the Aurora Borealis.

Q: How much does a stay at the cabin cost?
A: We charge £150 per night as standard, but discounts are available for longer stays.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: We offer flexible cancellation – just let us know as soon as possible if your plans change.
Q: Is smoking allowed?
A: No smoking indoors, but you’re welcome to smoke outside in designated areas.
Q: Can I bring my bike or rent one?
A: Yes! You’re welcome to bring your own bike, and we may have bikes available for use (at your own risk).

Cancellation & Refund Policy
We understand that travel plans can change, so we try to be as flexible as possible:
Free cancellation if you cancel at least 7 days before check-in.
50% refund if you cancel 3–6 days before check-in.
No refund if you cancel less than 72 hours before check-in.
If you need to reschedule, we’ll do our best to accommodate your new dates.
For cancellations due to extreme weather or unforeseen travel disruptions (e.g., ferry cancellations), please contact us—we’ll handle these on a case-by-case basis.

✅ Respect for Nature & Neighbors: This is a peaceful, rural area—please keep noise to a minimum, especially after 11:00 PM.
✅ Smoking: 🚭 No smoking indoors. You may smoke outside in designated areas.
✅ Pets: 🐾 Pets are welcome but must be supervised and cleaned up after. Please let us know if you’re bringing a pet.
✅ Cleanliness: Please leave the cabin tidy. We don’t expect deep cleaning, but kindly wash dishes and dispose of trash properly.
✅ Fire Safety: No open flames, candles, or outdoor fires unless explicitly permitted.
✅ Use of Provided Bikes: 🚲 Bikes are available upon request but are used at your own risk.
